Throughout time, artists have been skilled practitioners of self-reflection and introspection by constantly developing and analyzing a growing awareness of their self. This year’s county juried exhibition highlights the variety of artistic thought processes, ideas, and media that 43 different artists use to create solutions to their own struggles with self-reflection.

Brookland Exchange is a new indie market that aims to support local makers, creative expression and interaction between community and creative commerce on the Arts Walk Brookland. Find everything from art, fashion, gifts for baby, locally made foods and more!

Over 40 local creative business will offer their products for sale during an evening of live music, and community activities on the Arts Walk, at Monroe Street Market during Third Thursday.

17th Street Festival

17th Street NW from P Street to R Street, NW, in Washington DC — the 1500 and 1600 blocks of 17th Streets, NW.

Since 2010, the 17th Street Festival celebrates 17th Street and its diversity of restaurants and retailers.

There are 100 vendors, with more than 60 artists and makers displaying everything from fine art to jewelry, ceramics to crafts, and every creative item in between. Other vendors include area nonprofit organizations, politicians, entrepreneurs, and local businesses.

The kids zone has activities for children, including a large slide, soccer, snow cones, face painting, and games throughout the day.
